Vontae Davis was held out of last week’s game in Houston with a non-injury related issue according to the Colts. However, Davis was also ruled out for Sunday’s home game against Pittsburgh early this week with a groin injury.
Chuck Pagano was adamant that Davis’ benching was a “coach’s decision”, and looked to be a result of a declining level of play. General manager Chris Ballard backed that up by saying that the organization didn’t believe he was hurt after he participated in practice during the week.
Davis was not happy with how the organization has treated the situation, and the Indianapolis Star’s Stephen Holder is reporting that the Pro Bowl cornerback has been seeking doctors’ opinions and will need surgery to fix a chronic groin issue.
